Oh my. If my backseats could talk . . . trust me, it wouldn't be about sex. Let's see: sand, coffee, milk, baby puke, dog poop (nervous puppy), birdseed, every kind of fast food and chip known to humanity.

Funnily enough, my ex would never let anyone eat in his car, but my car, the family car, was fair game. Hence the term ex . . .

But then, for a while, I got on this roll where I kept my Trooper clean, spotless, vacuumed, armor-alled. Then my eldest son took possession. It. Never. Recovered.

I'll never forget the first time that I rode as a passenger in a new friend's jeep and spilled sweet tea. I said, "Well at least it's not leather." The look on her face told me how wrong I was.

Alan Freed?

Yeah, according to the article, the Moondog Coronation Ball (seemingly the first official rock concert) was held in Cleveland in 1952. That would make sense. Still...

I think Cleveland has only been mentioned in one or two songs, such as "Look Out Cleveland" by The Band (1969). Interestingly, the subject of that song isn't Cleveland, per se, but a great storm sweeping through the Midwest. So, the implication is that Cleveland isn't a great place to BE so much as a great place to AVOID if one doesn't want to get sucked up by a twister...

The thought it that the DJ that first coined the term Rock 'n Roll and first played the music was from Cleveland. Personally, I think that's a great place to have the Radio DJ Hall of Fame, but Memphis has had a ton of long tradition of music. I don't even have to mention most of it, because let's face it, it speaks for itself. What you may not know is that Memphis has been sung about/mentioned in over 400 songs, accroding to Billboard Magazine. Twenty-four of the first 97 inductees to the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame were from Memphis or the surrounding area. So, 25% of the first 100, huh. Interest. Also, Memphis was voted #6 in the Society of Travel Writers Top 10 Cities for Live Music. Where was Cleveland on that list? It wasn't...

Isn't that the truth. If you haven't seen it, there was a really fun paradoy of one of the three on Saturday Night Live during Weekend Update. It took everything I had not to say, that all of reality television was swallowed up whole.

>Seriously, the fact that the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of >Fame isn’t in this city is mind-boggling.

Hey, they had to throw Cleveland some kind of a bone, considering that there's nothing else there and no one in his/her right mind would want to visit otherwise!
